Inside Doric – 6 Questions for Tobias Reber

Tobias Reber has been Head of Portfolio Management for Renewable Energy at Quadoro Investment GmbH since May 2022. Before this he was a transaction manager for commercial European real estate for three and a half year. In total, Tobias has been part of the Doric Group for ten years.

1. What do you do in your day-to-day work and what do you like best about it?

My job is to manage the strategic direction of the Renewable Energy division and to identify, select and implement renewable energy projects. The highlight for me is when projects are successfully completed.

2. What has been your most important project so far and what project are you working on at present?

It's not easy to choose as there have been quite a few exciting projects, but the acquisition of Allianz House in Dublin is definitely one of them. It was my second transaction and the first purchase for the newly launched open-ended mutual fund.

As well as integrating the two solar and wind projects recently acquired and under construction, we are currently working on expanding our joint venture with Aracari and developing new markets.

3. Why did you choose the renewable energy sector?

The switch to renewable energy came about at short notice: a position became vacant and management was not convinced by an external solution. As I knew the company, its products and the international project business, I was approached and took on the new challenge.

4. What challenges do you face in your day-to-day work?

Challenges include expanding our product range and analysing projects with a wide range of variables. Another challenge is the market environment which has changed significantly recently.

5. How do you see your future at the Doric Group and the future of the renewable energy sector in general?

At Doric I have consistently been given the opportunity to grow. This process is far from over for me and I still have much I want to achieve here.

The time is right for the renewable energy sector. We have laid some important foundations in the past year to advance the area but we can certainly accomplish even more.

6. What are you passionate about in your free time?

I'm an enthusiastic Tabler [member of the Round Table Offenbach Support Foundation] and volunteer for local projects such as the Bananenflanke football team and international aid programmes such as the Christmas parcel convoy.
